Method
- Remove closet doors and hardware. For bi-fold doors, consider keeping them to close the office when not in use.
- Remove existing shelving and rods, patching holes and preparing the interior surfaces.
- Paint the interior in a color that complements your room while maximizing light reflection.
- Install desk surface at standard height (30") using heavy-duty brackets secured to wall studs.
- Add upper and lower shelving for storage, task lighting, and power solutions for your electronics.
For visual continuity, paint your closet office the same color as the surrounding room, or use a slightly lighter shade of the same color to create depth. Consider using a bold wallpaper on the back wall to create visual interest when the doors are open.
