Would You Like to Live in a Texas Castle?

In Southlake, Texas, a 13,922-square-foot castle-style estate on nearly two acres just hit the market at $6,895,000. Seven bedrooms, twelve baths, a grotto spa and pool flowing from indoors to outdoors, a private tennis court, a two-story boutique closet, a two-bedroom guest house, and Vanderpump Alain design accents throughout. Reddit's verdict: surprisingly affordable, geographically complicated.

Nearly 14,000 Square Feet of Committed Luxury

Originally built in 2010 and fully renovated in 2021 with exquisite artisan finishes, this Southlake estate does not do anything halfway. The first-floor primary suite features a spa-like bath and a two-story boutique closet that is, by any measure, a room unto itself. The grotto spa and pool connects seamlessly between indoor and outdoor living spaces, creating the kind of resort-style flow that makes the distinction between "home" and "vacation" largely academic. A private tennis court and a two-bedroom guest house round out what is — by square footage alone — one of the more substantial residential offerings in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Architectural details and custom craftsmanship are present throughout, with Vanderpump Alain design accents lending the interiors a particular brand of maximalist polish.

Reddit Is Surprised. Reddit Is Still Not Moving to Texas.

The thread opened with a simple question — would you like to live in a castle? — and Reddit answered honestly. One commenter admitted they would, just not this one. Another expressed genuine surprise at the price point relative to expectations, then clarified their position on Texas residency in terms we'll leave to your imagination. Southlake is, for the record, one of the more affluent suburbs in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, situated within the award-winning Carroll ISD. Whether that's enough to overcome certain geographic objections is, as always, a personal decision.
