The Untold Truth Behind Hollywood's Steamiest Scenes

Some movies have lovely scenes, and then some other movies have love scenes. From Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze's iconic pottery scene in "Ghost" to more modern, hilarious flicks like "American Pie," find out which hot scenes were heavy enough to make the cut...

Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana, Avatar

You might not have seen this scene, as it was cut from most major theaters for being a tad too heavy. James Cameron's 2009 film was a hit at the box office, so much so that this part needed to be hidden inside the director's cut. Maybe one of the planned 4 sequels will give fans a glimpse behind the curtain?

Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey

Jamie Dornan, an onscreen heartthrob, did everything possible to make his co-star Dakota Johnson crack up while filming their intimate film. The Fifty Shades franchise was known for its erotic bedroom filming, but the shoot was actually very lighthearted and fun. "When there's a wider shot and we're going for it all in one piece, they'll play music over it, and it's always my temptation to make Dakota laugh," said Jamie. "So sometimes, I'll do things like—in a moment when I'm meant to orgasm—I'll instead go, 'Doo-doo-doodley-do!'"

Julia Roberts, Pretty Woman

Before filming her love scenes with Richard Gere, Roberts broke out in nervous hives. “I had never done this kind of stuff before, and I was really nervous," said the actress. "I'd get hives. They'd say, ‘kiss,’ and I'd get a hive...but the funny thing is that we’d become such a family. This particular crew, we became so close to one another that by the time a scene like this came up—everyone knows the way that I felt and my kind of value ideas about it—everybody was more nervous than I was."

Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio, Titanic

Though nothing tops Titanic's sensual "draw me like one of your French girls" scene, their other intimate scene comes in a close second place. This is the scene viewers sat through two hours for, and the image of Kate Winslet's steamy handprint on the car window has become one of the film's most iconic moments. Truly an unforgettable part for any film fan.

Rachel McAdams & Ryan Gosling, The Notebook

"The Notebook" is one of the best and most moving love stories ever told on the big screen. The part where Noah and his beloved girlfriend Allie finally get together after years of separation is the kind of romance that so many young men and women hope to find in their own love lives. McAdams and Gosling's chemistry was incredibly intense. So much so that they dated for several years after the movie.

Margot Robbie, The Wolf of Wall Street

Robbie's scene her with onscreen husband Leonardo DiCaprio made fans melt, but gave Robbie a ton of paper cuts on her back. It all happened thanks to rolling around on money. "If anyone is ever planning on having sex on top of a pile of cash: don’t. Or maybe real money is a bit softer...when I got up off the bed, I turned around to get my robe and everyone gasped," said the actress, "They said, 'You look like you’ve been whipped a million times."

Timothee Chalomet & Armie Hammer, Call Me By Your Name

This movie was the film of the summer. Specifically, the "I don't want you to go" scene was the most talked-about moment of the season. Though the two never go all the way in the film, they have enough tension and steamy sessions to make the audience think that they did. At least they have the peach scene to stimulate fans' imaginations...

Robert Pattinson, Breaking Dawn

During that infamous honeymoon scene, too much of Robert's body was shown on camera. Editors actually needed to recut it before finalizing the film. Though viewers might not have minded, Pattinson certainly did. "There was too much buttcrack," said the actor. "That was one thing I was told they had to cut out, but they didn't cut the shot—they just cut my crack out. Like, they painted over it, because you can show cheek, but you cannot show crack."

Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Superbad

The actor was actually a real teen at the time of filming the Seth Rogen classic "Superbad" even though he certainly looked like one. McLovin revealed during a round of press interviews that his famously uncomfortable sex scene wasn't fun for either of the actors. "She got there, and I had fake sexual intercourse in front of her. Afterward, we didn’t talk about it; we still don’t speak about that moment."

Emilia Clarke & Jason Momoa, Game of Thrones

Despite the difficult beginning to the Khaleesi and Khal's romance, the chemistry between actors Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa was steamy on the screen. To help ease the tension while filming some of the more intimate scenes, Momoa covered himself up with a bright pink sock instead of the typical flesh-colored sock. It certainly worked at making things a little easier, because their scenes are some of the show's most memorable moments.

Mila Kunis & Natalie Portman, Black Swan

The thriller flick based on the famous "Black Swan" ballet stars actresses Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis. The duo is pitted against each other as rival dancers fighting for the leading role. The sex scene they share is still up for debate about whether or not it actually really happened, or if it was all some kind of stress dream. The beautiful and vibrant horror is remarked as one of the best films for either actress.

Mark Wahlberg, Boogie Nights

Mark Wahlberg wasn't as well-endowed as the designers thought. The result? A prosthetic penis for him to wear during filming. The first one was way too long, but the second was correct. Mark even kept it when the movie wrapped! "So this thing was down past my knees," he said. "Everybody thought it was ridiculous, and I had to come out on the set to show it to everybody. It was very embarrassing, but the shorter one they remade is still the only prop I've ever kept from a movie."

Keira Knightley, Atonement

Keira Knightley's gorgeous emerald dress in "Atonement" had a few different backups due to the frequent ripping from that famous library scene. "I probably broke them all," Knightley recalled in an interview. "You can't have a sex scene in a dress like that! It was all laser-cut in the front, so literally, if you touched it [it ripped]. They had so many [backups], and the tops had to keep being resewn and redone."

Jake Gyllenhaal & Heath Ledger, Brokeback Mountain

This 2005 gay cowboy romance flick went down in cinematic history as one of the most controversial but also one of the most-watched films of all time. The modern love story between Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal was shown onscreen unapologetically to a shocked audience and is still one of the most notable films of both actors' careers. Not only was it well received, but it also paved the way for more LGBTQ-friendly films.

Demi Moore & Patrick Swayze, Ghost

Ghost holds one of the most infamous intimacy scenes in film history, probably for its unique framing and unusual concept. Somehow the two of them make wheel-thrown pottery insanely hot. Though it's one of the few steamy scenes in the movie, it definitely packs a huge punch for the viewer.

Scarlett Johansson, Under the Skin

In 2013, Jonathan Glazer directed this science fiction film that amazed and captivated viewers and has since earned a cult following. Glazer hired regular passers-by to play men who died at the hands of Johansson's alien beauty. These scenes are more intriguing than tense, but still worth the watch.

Jason Biggs, American Pie

American Pie is one of the most famous raunchy coming-of-age flicks ever made. One particular scene featuring Jason Biggs tends to come to mind for fans. That infamous pie scene is probably why the film has that title, but at what cost?

Sharon Stone & Stan Collymore, Basic Instinct

The standout scene in "Basic Instinct" takes place in a moving car with the effortlessly beautiful Sharon Stone behind the wheel. The two get down and dirty all while Stone is ripping through the rain-covered streets of the city. She somehow doesn't miss a single turn or kill them both. Her scene partner, Stan Collymore, was a pro football player who later turned into an actor.

Elizabeth Berkley & Kyle MacLachlan, Showgirls

Elizabeth Berkley and Kyle MacLachlan heat up this flick in what remains the highest-grossing NC-17 film of all time. Released in 1995, this Paul Verhoeven film has gotten mixed reviews over the years, but this scene stands out to anyone who saw it in theaters. You cannot forget a film like that!

Ben Affleck & Rosamund Pike, Gone Girl

In this murder mystery, Pike's character—a crazy person married to Affleck's emotionally distanced character—decided to seduce another man. Things got steamy a little too fast, but it all ends in tragedy when she cuts his throat open with a knife. The entire film is a rollercoaster of "whodunnit" right up until the very end, and it will shock you...

Emmy Rossum, Shameless

Emmy Rossum's character on "Shameless" is truly shameless when it comes to sex scenes, but she and the producers made sure there was still a level of class to the shooting. There is a line between a love scene and just an erotic film, so Rossum wore discreet types of underwear in order to avoid being totally naked in her scenes. The covering meant a lot to her.

Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Pratt, The Passengers

The scene between super-famous celebs Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in their space odyssey film, The Passengers, was allegedly very scary for Lawrence. She got inebriated before filming in order to make it through the guilt of kissing a married man. At the time, Pratt was married to Anna Farris. After the shoot wrapped, Lawrence said drinking had "led to more anxiety when I got home, because I was like, ‘What have I done? I don’t know.’"

Amy Schumer & John Cena, Trainwreck

John Cena isn't just a wrestler, he's also now a movie star! He starred in Trainwreck as Amy Schumer's boyfriend, and their love scenes got pretty hot and heavy as well as hilarious. The man might be known for body slams, but this is another alternative use for his msucles...

Tiffany Hadish, Girls Trip

Okay, so this isn't technically an actual explicit scene, but it toes the line more aggressively (and hilariously) than most others on this list. Tiffany Hadish delivers a masterclass on prop comedy with this reenactment of oral sex on a banana. Steamy? No. Funny? Definitely.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Don Jon

Joseph Gordon-Levitt knew that his perfect film would be too intense for any studio to sign on for, so he did this one all himself. The main character is addicted to pornography and it begins to take over his life. Once he meets the right girl though, there's no telling what he will do to get her to himself...

Will Smith & Hayley Marie Norman, Hancock

Hancock, played by superstar Will Smith, is an alcoholic superhero. He's found himself trapped in a world he doesn't recognize and no memory of how he got there. Much like the Greek god Zeus, he's also severely sexually frustrated. His awkward encounter with Hayley Marie Norman makes this movie all the more sincere...

Garrett Clayton, Christian Slater, Keegan Allen, & James Franco, King Cobra

Garrett Clayton stars in this crime drama following a series of killings as Brent Corrigan, an adult film star. As his ratings rise, so does the risk. Although he has some spectacular steamy scenes, the underlying fear of what's to come definitely comes through to the audience. Clayton is joined onscreen by Christian Slater, Keegan Allen, and James Franco.

Lisa Bonet & Mickey Rourke, Angel Heart

It wasn't just the racy sex scenes that got this movie an X-rating. With rigid violence, bloody battles, and Rourke's naked glutes, this scene needed to be trimmed down in order to appeal to the MPAA. Alan Parker directed this 1987 horror mystery flick.

Lakeith Stanfield & Armie Hammer, Sorry to Bother You

In one of the most insane twist endings ever seen in cinema, Sorry to Bother You is truly an unforgettable film. This movie follows one man's rise up the corporate ladder and the many sacrifices he must make. Lakeith Stanfield wanted to go nude in his and Hammer's sex scene, but the nudity was eventually cut from the final script.

Jada Pinkett Smith & Allen Payne, Jason's Lyric

Doug McHenry directed this 1993 flick starring Jada Pinkett Smith and Allen Payne. The racy scenes of this film had to be trimmed down quite a bit to avoid getting an NC-17 rating, but it doesn't take away from the gripping plot. This is a romance that has stood the test of time in a way few movies ever have.

Jane Fonda, Barbarella

Jane Fonda was one of Hollywood's most influential starlets. The 1968 film by Robert Vadim perfectly showcases Fonda's talents and beauty. The superhero is captured in one scene and put into an "Excessive-Pleasure" machine that causes her to experience overwhelming sexual pleasure...only in the 60s!

Winona Ryder & Keanu Reeves, Destination Wedding

Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves star opposite each other in this 2018 movie about love abroad. The two share unwavering witty banter with one another at every moment, even when getting hot and heavy. Though it's definitely kind of awkward, these two make the moment unbearably sweet as well...

Isabelle Huppert & Benoît Magimel, The Piano Teacher

Isabelle Huppert stars opposite Benoît Magimel in The Piano Teacher. This film is so charged that it makes Fifty Shades of Gray look like a teenage love story. The pair explore not only each other's bodies and minds but also test their limits with sadomasochism. It's a bit intense, but also intensely intimate.

Tommy Wiseau & Juliette Danielle, The Room

Oftentimes called the worst movie ever made, The Room has a cult following of fans who love to revel in its atrocity. One particular standout though it Juliette Danielle, who did a sex scene with Tommy Wiseau. According to the stars, Wiseau said before filming, "I have to show my ass or this movie won't sell."

Rachel Weisz & Rachel McAdams, Disobedience

In this film, a woman returns to her Orthodox Jewish childhood home to find that things are not as she left them. She reunites with her best friend and former love interest to find that their spark is still there. What ensues is a test of love, loyalty, family, and fate that captivates audiences long after the credits roll.

Maggie Gyllenhaal & James Spader, Secretary

Not only does this movie feature heartthrobs like Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader but Secretary was also one of the very first films to portray BDSM in a positive light, way before Fifty Shades hit the theaters. When a secretary falls for her strict and demanding boss, the two find they have more than just chemistry in common...

Garance Marillier & Rabah Nait Oufella, Raw

This flick was more on the side of gory than romantic, but that doesn't mean it was without some hot scenes. A vegetarian is eager to fit in at her new veterinary school and breaks her meatless fast. This opens her up to a world and a man she never expected, and both will wish she had stuck to greens...

Donald Sutherland & Julie Christie, Don't Look Now

To this day, some people believe that Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie were not acting through their romantic bedroom scenes. It was so effortless and natural that many subscribe to the belief that these two were really going at it in the studio. Though neither have ever confirmed or denied the fact, it does make you wonder...

Mickey Rourke & Kim Basinger, 9 1/2 Weeks

Kim Basinger had a body double for all of her sultry scenes, but that doesn't take away from her talent in this film. After the two of them start a relationship, Rourke's character pushes for riskier and more daring bedroom acts. Although she loves him, Basinger's character realizes she might not survive his affection...

Henry Cavill, The Tudors

Despite the period drama's famous raunchy sex scenes, filming them wasn't as exciting as one would probably expect. Leading man Henry Cavill stated in an interview that he had to repeatedly apologize after filming one particularly steamy scene since he'd gotten turned on. He felt embarrassed and unprofessional for the way he reacted, but everyone on set understood.

Anne Hathaway & Jake Gyllenhaal, Love & Other Drugs

Though "Love & Other Drugs" is full of raunchy scenes, one that stood out to Anne Hathaway while filming was the scene where her character accidentally stripped in front of one of the leading man's friends. She prepped herself a little too well for the scene, unfortunately. Instead of an underneath covering, she dropped her trenchcoat to accidentally reveal that she was totally nude to a room full of people.

Robert Pattinson, Maps to the Stars

The former "Twilight" star has made it public knowledge that he's prone to sweating. This became a problem when he was filming Maps to the Stars with Julianne Moore. He said that things were getting overwhelmingly steamy—really —while filming the intimate parts. “I was trying to literally catch drops of sweat to stop them from hitting her back! Afterward, she was like ‘Are you having a panic attack?’ It was so embarrassing.”

Allison Williams, Girls

In the show's season opener, Allison William's character Marnie made one particular scene pretty infamous. She says that her goal with love scenes was to make things as easy and comfortable for her fellow scene partners as possible. “I grabbed the make-up girl and said, ‘I want to smell like a cake,’ so we put vanilla cream everywhere so everything smells good."

Ryan Reynolds & Olivia Wilde, The Change Up

Olivia Wilde really pulled a fast one on co-star Ryan Reynolds when her scene required her to go topless in front of him. “So in the scene, she’s sitting there, and I take her top off, I take her bra off, and she has those pasties on, but she’s drawn these adorable little smiley faces on them," said the shocked actor, "And I forget every line in the scene. Not just from this movie, from every movie I’ve done."

Allison Janney, Life During Wartime

Janney accidentally sent her scene partner Michael Lerner to the hospital while filming their steamy part. “We had to have sex up against a wall and they started spraying us with glistening stuff to make us look sweaty, but no one seemed to realize that we were standing on a marble floor," recalled Janney in an interview, "They said action and he … pulled me up against the wall and his feet slipped out from under him and he went crashing down on the floor. It was terrible, but it was one of those moments I’ll never forget.”

Keanu Reeves, Knock Knock

Keanu Reeves appeared in the 2015 movie "Knock Knock" with none other than the director's wife. It was even weirder that all his sex scenes were actually threesomes, and the director was totally fine with everything. "Eli [Roth, director] created a great situation of trust in rehearsal...but eventually you've got to strip naked and simulate," said Reeves, "and I wasn't going to be that guy who was like, 'Hey Eli, your wife's hot!' Yeah no, he was really cool about it and we all...had fun."

Dave Franco, Neighbors

Dave Franco's first onscreen sex scene began and ended in awkwardness. He had a huge butt pimple during the day of filming. He barely knew his co-star, Halson Sage, at all. "Of course, I woke up that morning and I had a giant pimple on my ass," said the star. "I had to go to the makeup artist who I had also just met that week and be like, 'Can I go in the other room and have you put makeup [on it]?'"

Aubrey Plaza & Robert DeNiro, Dirty Grandpa

Plaza was so nervous to film steamy scenes with DeNiro, a significantly older man, so she found a way to break the ice. "I took an incredibly slutty picture of myself in character, put it in a book about Zen Buddhism, and slipped it under his trailer door," said Plaza, "I didn't hear anything about it for a week, so I was terrified that I was going to get fired. Then, he casually came over to me a week later and was like, 'I got your book...' — and I had put the photo on page 4, so then he said—'I only got to page 4, but it was VERY good.'"

Kate Winslet & James Gandolfini, Romance and Cigarettes

John Turturro, the director, thought things were getting too hot and heavy during the couple's sex scenes, so he had them film their parts separately. "So I decided to take James out of the scene and I put Kate on a big bouncy ball and just had her bounce and look around," he said. "The problem was how to connect them so when it was James' turn, he pretended to have sex and I threw Kate's wig around...so if you watch the scene, they're completely free, but they're not in the same room together."

Ben Affleck, Live By Night

Ben Affleck not only starred in Live By Night, he also directed it! Yelling out "cut" during an intimate scene was kind of difficult, but necessary. "We had these montages of sex scenes and in my mind—I was thinking, Well, we're just going again, like without yelling 'cut'; we'll just keep going. And finally, Sienna just started laughing and said, 'Who do you think you are? How many times can one man climax?!'"

Emma Stone & Olivia Coleman, The Favourite

Emma Stone and Olivia Coleman needed to film a discreet love scene for this film. Coleman wanted to prank the younger actress in order to lighten the mood. Stone felt the nerves of a big scene, so Coleman had to surprise her. "I went to makeup and I got a sponge...a big, wet sponge," she said," I put it there as a barrier and told her not to worry about it. So when we were shooting, she was going up my leg and then went 'OH?! [in disgust]' and I was like "Oh no, it's a sponge!"

Angelina Jolie & Antonio Banderas, Original Sin

While Original Sin might not have broken records at the box office, the lack of acclaim is saved by the film's several incredibly steamy scenes between stars Antonio Banderas and Angelina Jolie. The couple had so much on-screen chemistry that people still wonder, nearly a decade later, if their scenes were actually stimulated or not. To this day, neither will confirm nor deny, so it's up to viewers' imagination...

Ashely Benson & Vanessa Hudgens, Spring Breakers

Despite denouncing a sequel to this raunchy teen film, James Franco did participate in an underwater threesome scene with actresses Benson and Hudgens that would have made anyone's spring break into a legendary trip. Though the film itself was quite a disappointment to critics, it did get audiences talking about what makes a truly ideal spring break trip.

Kristen Bell, Forgetting Sarah Marshall

Jason Segel starred opposite petite blondie Bell in this romantic comedy. The scene he's best known for is that split-second of full-frontal viewers are able to see in the opening credits. Also starring infamous playboy Russell Brand, the actor plays Bell's summer fling. With him and Segal behind the wheel, this film is jam-packed with awkward sexcapades. And yes, he does manage to forget Sarah Marshall.

Midsommar

Midsommar stunned audiences with it's aggressive and horrifying storylines. In fact, it even features a ritualistic sex scene that took over two weeks to get on camera. The scene is filled with nudity, trauma, horror, and strangeness. The hyper-real yet dystopic aesthetic makes it both terrifying and funny in a trainwreck kind of way.

Reese Witherspoon & Ryan Phillippe, Cruel Intentions

The couple in this film would go on to actually get married outside of their screentime, which only added to their chemistry. Though they have since divorced, if you ever miss the good old days of a classic 1990's couple, just put this film on your TV and relax. Things get hot and steamy for everyone involved, which makes this a classic must-watch.

Ryan Gosling & Michelle Williams, Blue Valentine

This movie explores the inevitability of toxic relationships as a terrible escape. Despite a lack of motivation, it is actually intense self-absorption that eventually causes the undoing of a marriage. Despite the ups and downs in their relationship, you can't miss Gosling and Williams' undeniable chemistry. Their intimate scenes are some of the driving forces of the entire film.

Tom Cruise & Renee Zellwegger, Jerry Maguire

This is every mother's favorite flick, probably. Heartthrob Tom Cruise was at his peak dream beau in this movie, and Renee Zellwegger played the every-woman who manages to pin him down. The sweet yet intensely frustrating relationship they have is one of the most enviable portrayed onscreen throughout rom-com history.

Tom Cruise & Rebecca de Mornay, Risky Business

The unusual sex-in-public scene between lovers Joel and Lana was definitely the highlight of this teen boy's rambunctious misadventures while his parents are out of town. For whatever reason, the bus driver doesn't notice the two teen hotties going at it in the backseat, and they somehow go all the way without getting caught. That's something the two of them can check off their bucket list...

Cerina Vincent & Rider Strong, Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever plays out the classic "last man standing versus the last girl left" trope. A flesh-eating virus is going after a group of college students vacationing in the mountains, but while they're trying to enjoy their time away from the rest of the world, all hell breaks loose. Luckily for these teens, just when it seems like the end, Vincent and Strong's characters decide to get hot and heavy for the final time...

Sharon Stone & Arnold Schwarzenegger, Total Recall

Despite a very cool guy plotline and fight scenes packed with action,  the film Total Recall has its moments of loving. Lori and Douglas Quaid have an adorable scene at the beginning of the film that sets the theme of their relationship for the remainder of the film. Don't be fooled, though—Schwarzenegger is still the most impressive action star and not a sell-out rom-com hero.

Eric Bana & Ayelet Zurer, Munich

The film "Munich" is more of a war-torn biopic based in Israel rather than a romantic movie for lovebirds. However, Bana and Zurer's characters, a married couple expecting a baby, do share an incredibly intimate lovemaking scene while she's pregnant. It grounds the rest of the violence in the movie and distances the viewer from the overwhelming action for a few minutes as well as humanizes such an unfortunate situation.

Susan Sarandon & Barry Bostwick, The Rocky Horror Picture Show

One of Hollywood's strangest cult obsessions is The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The play made into a movie is known for one particularly racy scene: the "Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me" song. Leading couple Janet and Brad get caught up in the heat of the moment while also in the center of an elaborate musical number. There's a reason your parents probably didn't let into see this flick, or any of its remakes.

Doug Jones & Sally Hawkins, The Shape of Water

The most shocking part of this gritty and odd Guillermo del Toro film was definitely the interspecies sex scene (yes, you read that right.) Audiences weren't expecting a quiet young woman to fall for a fish-man, but it happened in a very sincere way. It made it all the way to the Oscars for its...unique plot. There certainly hasn't been a film like it ever before or ever since.

Patrick Swayze, Road House

Only one man could have made all the scenes in this film look so relaxed and finessed: Patrick Swayze. The actor is more than just the entire face of this film, he's the face of the trope. Whether he's punching the guys at a bar or having what appears to be simulated sex against a wall, he makes them both look pretty impressive. Who would have thought "Dirty Dancing" would have kicked off his cool guy career?

Patrick Wilson & Malin Akerman, Watchmen

Considered to be one of the best comic book adaptations of all time, "Watchmen" features two masked superheroes, Silk Spectre and Night Owl II. The two of them come together during an intense scene to the tune of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." After they've spent the day saving the world from destruction, things start to get busy when they are in their galactic spaceship.

John Cusak & Nicole Kidman, The Paperboy

Despite the obvious chemistry between Zac Efron's boy next door character and the older leading lady played by Nicole Kidman, the true heat comes from a rough laundry room scene featuring cougar Kidman and John Cusak. The two play the loves of each other's lives, and they finally get together for one steamy scene. It's almost too much for one viewer to handle...almost!

Chris Hemsworth & Anna Hutchison, The Cabin in the Woods

Chris Hemsworth spends a whole scene set on convincing his girlfriend to have sex with him. Anna Hutchison, the girlfriend, is in for disaster when the two go at it in the woods (bad location for any horror film romance). Weird things have already started happening to this group of odd friends while they're on vacation, so splitting up from the group probably isn't the best concept. However, they're being watched the entire time.

Erika Christensen, Swimfan

Bradley Cooper & Michael Ian Black, Wet Hot American Summer

A very youthful Bradley Cooper plays a closeted camp counselor in the hilarious summer camp flick, and he has a secret rendezvous with another counselor played by Michael Ian Black in a tool shed. This film was another progressively LGBTQ friendly film for its time and having an actor like Cooper play an openly gay character helped normalize the role. Not to mention, it was incredibly funny.

Diane Lane & Oliver Martinez, Unfaithful

There's one quick sex scene in "Unfaithful," despite the fact that the entire film is about an illicit affair. Diane Lane excuses herself from lunch with her friends to have a quick rendevous with her secret lover in the restrooms. Lane's character cheats on her husband, portrayed by Richard Gere. Viewers probably thought she was crazy but how could anyone choose?

Halle Berry & Billy Bob Thornton, Monster's Ball

This scene in the movie Monster's Ball is all about asking for consent before things heat up. Halle Berry is the center of attention during their sexy intimacy scene, but the most chills-inducing part is when Thornton asks the starlet if it's okay for him to touch her. She agrees, but oh, man!

Adele Exarchopoulos & Lea Seydoux, Blue is the Warmest Color

This film was incredibly controversial at the time of its release, even though it is still decently new. The 2013 lesbian-centered love story is filled with lots of sensual-to-graphic sex scenes but also tells a very touching coming-of-age tale of finding love and accepting one's true self-identity.

Ashton Kutcher & Natalie Portman, No Strings Attached

This film got two hot actors to make a hot scene even hotter. Their "making it happen" moment in this movie is a fan-favorite. Who wouldn't fall in love with a dream duo like Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher? In this particular moment, the two try to have sex as silently as possible so Portman's roommates don't hear them getting down and dirty.

Uma Thurman & John Malkovitch, Dangerous Liaisons

If period dramas aren't your thing, you might be able to fall in love with this one. After all, it is all about power, hierarchy, seduction, betrayal, manipulation, and sex. There's a particularly intimate scene that features Malkovitch's character seducing the very young Thurman into something unheard of for the time...

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith

The film where "Brangelina" got together on the big screen has gone down in history as one of the couple's steamiest roles, and for good reason. Their scenes together are usually a little tough, which fits the violent theme of this vicious film. It's no wonder they fell in love on the set of this cinematic masterpiece—the chemistry in this movie is undeniable.

Brooke Shields & Christopher Atkins, The Blue Lagoon

Brooke Shields was a child, only 14 years old when she first starred in this Castaway kind of film alongside jaw-dropping Christopher Atkins. Two stranded teens come of age and fall in love, all while trapped on a deserted island, and the film was risque for its time because Shields walked the sands topless for most of her scenes. The risk paid off though, as it has been remade several times.

Eva Green & Sullivan Stapleton, 300: Rise of an Empire

Not the Gerard Butler movie, the other movie called 300, which was released in 2014. The sequel details the continuation of Butler's epic saga, and it features a rather unusual love scene between Stapleton and Green, who play each other's rivals. The saying "keep your enemies closer" is taken to a whole new level in this movie moment.

Reese Witherspoon & Mark Wahlberg, Fear

The classic rollercoaster scene between a very youthful Witherspoon and equally baby-faced Wahlberg is what solidifies his creepy obsession with her and ultimately drives him to the point of craziness. What starts off as a seemingly-innocent teenage love story quickly turns villainous as Wahlberg does whatever he can to pursue the perceived love of his life.

Keira Knightley & Aaron Taylor Johnson, Anna Karenina

This is another hot and heavy period piece that pits two British heartthrobs in the center of 19th century Russia. Their scene rivals the dainty-niceties and elegant ballroom dance numbers that they also share. Behind closed doors, they're just as compatible with each other in the bedroom as they are on the dance floor.

Richard Gere & Lauren Hutton, American Gigolo

Richard Gere has the tables turned on him in this part, as he plays an escort this time instead of the customer. In the same vein as "Pretty Woman," the escort falls in love, and in the scene that Gere shares with his co-star, they have a romantic and passionate night that affirms the duo's love for one another. Gere was a heartthrob for obvious reasons...

Ewan McGregor & Vivian Wu, The Pillow Book

The Pillow Book is a movie about a young couple who take direction from a Japenese tantric book and find inspiration for their own lives in all sorts of places. There are romantic bathtub scenes and even an intimate bodypainting scene that captivated audiences. There certainly is something that everyone can enjoy in this film.

Kate Winslet & Leonardo DiCaprio, Revolutionary Road

Rose and Jack are together again, only this time they're not on a sinking ship. In the film Revolutionary Road, the old friends play a couple whose marriage is coming to an end.
