Remains of 10-Year-Old Missing Girl Found

A 10-year-old girl went missing on July 10th in Davenport, Iowa. Family, friends, and concerned citizens have been searching for Breasia Terrell ever since her disappearance. The discovery was made after human remains were discovered. They were tested and confirmed to be the remains of the little girl. The police have turned this missing person case into a homicide investigation.

“As you know Breasia’s been missing since July 10 from our city,” Davenport Police Chief Paul Sikorski said. “This news is heartbreaking to both Breasia’s family and our Davenport community. Our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers are with all of those who are affected by this tragic loss.”

“This investigation continues to be a joint investigation by the Davenport Police Department, the Division of Criminal Investigations from the Iowa Department of Public Safety, and our partners at the FBI,”  Sikorski said. “I can assure our community that investigators are working diligently to bring justice on Breasia’s half. Again, they have been nonstop for the last nine months. I want to assure our community that when we are able to share details on this investigation we will.”

An AMBER Alert was issued for the young girl in July but was canceled in January.

The human remains were found by local residents who were in the area to fish. They contacted authorities at 6:30 pm.

48-year-old Henry Dinkins is a person of interest. He was arrested on unrelated sex offender registration violations back in July of 2020.
